Here are some natural remedies that can lighten and brighten your skin over time. This is no overnight fix but you will see a difference over time if you continuously use these methods. Lemon & Baking Soda Paste:
- Half of a lemon
- Baking Soda
- Water (optional)
- Grab a small bowl or container
- Cut lemon in half
- 1 tablespoon of baking soda
- 1-2 tablespoons of honey
- 1-2 tablespoons of water (optional)
- Squeeze lemon juice in a bowl and pour other ingredients inside a bowl and mix well until it creates a smooth paste. Use water to dilute the lemon paste if you have very sensitive skin. The lemon can cause irritation.
After the paste is mixed well, grab the lemon you squeezed and dip it in the paste and rub the paste onto the dark areas you want to lighten. Gently rub in circular motions for 2 mins and let the paste sit on the skin for 15-20 mins then rinse off with warm water. Apply a natural moisturizer like shea butter, cocoa butter, aloe vera gel, or any kind of oil you like. If you use shea butter or cocoa butter it can help speed up the lightening process. Do this treatment 3-4 times a week to see results quicker.

- Cut the potato in small slices
Clean your body very well or the dark areas you want to treat. Get a slice of the potato and rub the dark area in a circular motion for 5 mins and let dry for 15 mins then rinse with warm water. Do not forget to use a natural moisturizer like shea butter or cocoa butter. Shea butter or cocoa butter helps get rid of dark spots and hyperpigmentation. Do this daily or 3-4 times a week to see results quicker. Do not forget to save the other slices of the potato. To preserve the slices, place the slices on saran wrap and wrap it tightly then place into the refrigerator.
